	Ruhig, Brauner!

Tim Bruggeman

€ 30

This publication contains a collection of cartoons and drawings sourced from several issues of the magazine IMPULS. The magazine was created by young people in JVA Vierlande, a juvenile prison that operated from 1970 to 1990 on the former clay pits of the Nazi camp in Neuengamme. Following sustained public criticism, and in recognition of responsibility towards the victims and their relatives, the prison was eventually closed. Today, only one corner of the prison wall and a watchtower remain as silent witnesses to this history. In memory of my grandfather, Louis Bruggeman, who, as a 17-year-old resistance fighter, was imprisoned in KZ Neuengamme from 02.09.1944 to 05.05.1945, and survived this traumatic period. This publication was made possible with the kind support of a development grant from the Flemish Government, the EU Mobility Project and Neuengamme Concentration Camp Memorial.*Ruhig, Brauner! is an expression that originates from Die Walküre by Richard Wagner and refers to a moment when restless horses are calmed, a command meant to bring them back into line.

Renaat Braem ontwierp de Arenawijk in Deurne (Antwerpen, BE).

From the start of July, Pieter De Clercq inhabited KIOSK as its very first artist in residence. While KIOSK remained closed to the public during the summer, De Clercq moved existing sculptures from his regular studio and tirelessly added new works over the course of two months. The presentation Elke dag is een tentoonstelling (Every Day is an Exhibition) sheds new light on an artistic practice in which transformation and playfulness occupy a central role. The residency and the exhibition results from the launch of Pieter De Clercq’s second eponymous artist book, Elke dag is een tentoonstelling, published by INFINITIF.The artist book Elke dag is een tentoonstelling is generously supported by Flanders State of the Art

The Brussels Museum of Resistance is undergoing renovation. Hidden in the basements of the civil affairs department, the stacked archive awaits a new home. Boxes filled with recognition files, photo albums, exhibition panels, books, flags, furniture, and other scenographic materials are scattered throughout the entire floor plan. The recently appointed archivist Samuel and historian Agnes are sorting through the archive pieces and are striving to ensure a future. This publication shows the waiting archive of the Museum of Resistance.

	ZILCH

Maxime Le Bon
€ 35

In banana boxes, Maxime Le Bon collects and stores a lot of documents in a jumble. Most of them are printed, cut out from newspapers, magazines, old publications, erratas, other fragments of texts and photographs. Added to this are drawings that he improvises - some of them torn or stained that he don't want to display or throw away. This collection of heterogeneous items is then being rearranged and slipped into plastic pockets where he stores them. Unstable and in constant change, this improbable archive grows with the years. It sedimented layers of experiences and constitutes this heterogeneous deposit from which can emerge all sorts of fragmentary narratives and accidental arrangements. The publication ZILCH brings together a selection of A4 photocopies made by the artist from this extensive archive. The artist book "ZILCH" is generously supported by Flanders State of the Art and The Flemish Community Commission (VGC)
