INFINITIF & 019 present To Be Held at Both Ends, an exhibition and artist book by Klaas Vanhee. The exhibition brings together a series of works by Vanhee that enter into dialogue with Adrien Tirtiaux’s Das Trojanische Ding. Klaas Vanhee will create an installation featuring a small selection of drawings and objects, alongside a spray wall fitted with hand-sculpted climbing holds. Bring your climbing shoes!
About the publication:
In Klaas Vanhee’s artistic practice, drawing has always carried a dual meaning: it is both an act and a way of exploring the possibilities of reproduction, repetition, and translation. Through different drawing methods, he investigates how a line can circulate and transform. Each drawing thus forms part of a broader process in which notes, copies, scans, and variations are just as important as the final images. To Be Held at Both Ends, published by INFINITIF in an edition of 300 copies. €38. The publication was made possible with the support of Sabam for Culture, 019 & Silvestre Galeria.
About Klaas Vanhee:
Klaas Vanhee (1982) studied painting at LUCA School of Arts in Ghent, where he has lived and worked since 2000. His practice spans a range of media, including painting, sculpture, installation, video, printmaking and, in particular, drawing. Through his work, Klaas gives form and meaning to personal memories, stories and desires, developing a visual language in which intimacy and vulnerability coexist with formal strength.
