From time to time the work is interrupted for a cigarette, to refill the fuel, or to replace the trimming line in the machines. Each time, the brushcutters are laid on their backs. At a certain moment one of the workers slings a leaf blower onto his back. A cloud of dust spreads across the footpath. The situation takes on something theatrical — a choreographed sequence of actions. After exactly two hours the droning sound fades and birdsong takes over.
