A moth ate words. I thought that a
marvelous occurrence, when I learned of this wonder –
that the worm devoured the sayings of one man,
– this thief in the dark – the glorious speech,
and its strong foundation. The thievish-guest was not
a whit wiser – he who devoured those words!
